The next Social Innovation Sydney barcamp is the first for 2011 and we will kick off with a context-setting keynote session. He will talk with us about the landscape of issues and challenges facing Australian communities, including how social innovators might authentically respond and contribute to positive change.
Many will know Robert from his many years working in local and leadership roles in social justice. Currently is Commissioner with the Productivity Commission (since 2004) where he has presided on 11 Australian Government Inquiries including the recent inquiries into executive remuneration, gambling and the not-for-profit sector.
A commercial lawyer by profession, Robert has held a number of government positions including as Community Services Commissioner and Deputy Ombudsman in NSW. He has been on many company and community boards including Benevolent Society, Caritas Australia, Australian Council of Social Service (ACOSS).
Don’t miss this opening session with Robert Fitzgerald at 10am. It will be a facilitated chat/interview style and there will be opportunities to interact and ask questions in connection with your ideas or projects. This session promises to set the tone for another year of exploring social innovation and collaboratively developing practical solutions to real-world problems.
