Announcing Miss Representation panel: @evacox @KateSoutham @AWCCI @theburgerman
We are kicking off our 2012 events with a film screening – Miss Representation – which explores how the media’s misrepresentations of women have led to the under representation of women in positions of power and influence.
The screening will be at COFA in Paddington at 6pm on 29 February 2012 > register here.
After the film we’re honourd have a feisty and well qualified panel to discuss the representation of women in media. Our panel includes:
- Eva Cox AO (@evacox) – is a highly respected feminist, academic, and activist, whose work has informed and inspired a generation of women. She has been an active advocate for creating more civil societies.
- Kate Southam (@KateSoutham)- is a journalist with News Corporation, with the popular Cube Farmer career blog
- Yolanda Vega (@AWCCI) – is CEO of the Australian Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry
- John Bergin (@theburgerman) -is Director of Social Media and Digital News, Sky News Australia
